Career

At Makro Glauben Indonesia we are specialists; adding value to the work of our clients by responding to their needs and objectives with carefully chosen products and services that will help them get to where they need to be and Professional.

Layout and Headings
  • Remember to use clear titles and headings for each section of your CV
  • At the top of your CV you should include: Name/ Address/ Email address/ Phone number
  • Write a personal statement/summary/objective
  • Qualifications
  • Job History and Work Experience
  • Remember at the end of your CV to include activities and interests, languages, computer skills (e.g. software packages and proficiency levels), and other skills not detailed in the rest of your CV. It is just as important for us as your potential employer, to know a bit about who you are personally, as well as professionally, and to understand the additional skills you may possess, even if they are not directly linked to the role you are applying for
  • References

Remember for each of the roles you have held, each job detail should include:

  • Title of the position
  • The length of time you held the post
  • Responsibilities
  • The name of the organisation you worked for
Font
  • Use a clear and easy to read font such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri
  • Use a font no smaller than 11 pts, anything smaller would be difficult to read
  • Do not use handwriting or artistic fonts
  • Use only blue or black ink and print onto white paper
  • For highlighting use bold on your font (e.g. on headings and titles)
  • Try to always stick to these guidelines regardless of the job you are applying for. If you are applying for a job of a creative nature, it is always better to send a supplement with your CV to illustrate these skills, and should you be successful to attend an interview, bring a portfolio of your work with you as a visual aid. This may be necessary if you were applying for a role in Marketing, for example
Additional Tips
  • Remember that your CV should be 2-3 pages in length. It should be concise and well thought-out. As a company we receive a vast amount of CVs every week and we may not have time to read through pages of information. If you stick to the desired length of two pages, you can often make your CV much more professional in appearance and layout
  • Do not use jargon or colloquial language. Your CV should be written in proper English

 or Indonesia,

Keep it simple. Try to avoid using long sentences and be concise, without employing creative or technical language.

  • You may want to use bullet points to help the overall layout of your CV, help keep your CV concise, and help you describe and list your job responsibilities
  • Be honest and do not ‘inflate’ your achievements or qualifications
  • If you have more work experience than qualifications, list your work experience first, and vice versa.
  • If you can, explain any gaps in employment history e.g. did you take a break from formal employment to care for a loved one, did you go travelling, or complete a training course or engage in a volunteering opportunity?
  • Remember to check for typographical errors manually, automatic spell checks won’t always pick up on spelling and grammatical errors
